Company History

Originally known as Allied Cargo Handling, the company was established by Frank Lonie who had over thirty years experience in stevedores and ports work. In 2002, Danny Lonie took over the management of the company. Danny immediately saw a need for a training centre dedicated to the training of forklift drivers, stevedores, and banksman slingers, and so renamed the company Allied Stevedores Ltd to reflect the change in direction. Soon after this the company became RTITB accredited, and then won its first government contract for forklift driving training provision. Up to the beginning of 2006 Allied Stevedores Ltd has successfully trained almost 500 people, which is far in excess of any of its nearest competitors.
In 2004, whilst on a training course, Danny Lonie met Naomi Mandel. Although Naomi's background is in the care industry, as a self employed chartered safety practitioner, Naomi provides health and safety training and support to a range of organisations in various industries. Danny and Naomi began discussing their shared interest in delivering health and safety training, and so Allied Training Services was born. Soon after this, the centre became IOSH accredited.
